Some of the facts about Delaware's miscellaneous symbols is that the State beverage is Milk and this is the only state with a State Star (Delaware Diamond).
Milk became the state beverage on June 3, 1983.
The Delaware Diamond is a star of the 12th magnitude and is the very first star on the International Star Registry to be ever registered to a state.
In the summer of 1999, a twelve year old girl named Amy Nerlinger named the star through a contest that Delaware Museum of Natural History was holding.
The Delaware Diamond became the official state star on June 30, 2000 and is part of the Ursa Major (Great Bear) constellation.
The coordinates is at the right ascension 9h40m44s and declination 48°14’2”.
